New York African Studies Association

Overview

The New York African Studies Association (NYASA), founded in 1967 as the SUNY African Studies Faculty Association, is a non-profit membership association, incorporated as NYASA in 1975, dedicated to advancing the discipline of Africana Studies. Our client was facing several challenges. We were tasked to improve the branding and website presence of the client in order to make the organization forward-looking to members of the organization.

The Challenge

The goal of this project is to improve the branding and digital marketing (website):

  • Logo design and basic branding required, including color systems and visual assets.
  • span style=”text-align: justify; font-weight: 400; font-size: 22px; color: black; font-family: ‘Montserrat’ !important;”>Difficulties promoting and increasing the visibility of Annual Conferences to College Students, Youth Groups, and African(s) research groups. 

The Solution

  • Conceptualize, design and present logo and brand concepts for approval.
  • Conduct research, design and present visuals for new website design
  • Concepts for branding can be representational of “Africana Studies” and/or should represent “Africa(s) arts and colors.”

The Result

  • Improvement of visual identity, web content, and social media content.  
  • Membership awareness, interest, and support through website and social media.   
  • Continuous engagements with current and new members through website. 
  • Overall visibility and enthusiasm based on new branding and visual elements.
